Congratulations to our newly Confirmed parishioners! It was a pleasure to welcome Archbishop Rozanski for Confirmation this past Thursday. The celebration was really nice. Thanks to all who had a role in making it so beautiful and meaningful.
Thank you for your attentiveness last weekend as I spoke about our Annual Stewardship Report. I hope you got a chance to review the report that was in last weekend’s bulletin. We are indeed blessed by your generosity. Thank you for all you do for St. Francis Borgia Parish.
On Tuesday of this week (November 16th), Detective Betsey Schulte of the Washington Police Department will give a presentation about keeping our kids safe as they utilize electronic communications and social media. She will offer some common sense measures we can all take to help protect our children and loved ones. You won’t want to miss this! Our Home & School Association and our school are sponsoring this event, and all are invited. It will take place on the 3rd floor of Jesuit Hall and will begin at 7:00 p.m. If you'd like to attend, just come on up. No need to register.
As we look ahead, Masses on Thanksgiving Day will be at 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. On the following Sunday we will begin our Advent Season. As we spend the Season of Advent preparing for the birth of the Lord, we will once again have our Advent Giving Tree. Please consider participating and brightening the Christmas of some folks who wouldn’t otherwise have much reason to celebrate.
Also during Advent, we will host the Advent by Candlelight for women on December 5th. On December 9th we will host an evening for men, Advent by Neon Light, at 1869 Draft Room. More details for both events can be found in this bulletin.
As a reminder, our SFBGS Home & School Raffle is underway. Tickets are available by calling the parish or school office or you can get one from a school family. The tickets cost $25 each and give you an opportunity to win one of three prizes: $2,500, $1,000, or $500. The drawing for the winners will be on November 23rd. The Home & School Association is made up of parents of our Grade School students and they do so much to support our school. Please consider buying a ticket. We are indeed blessed by our Home & School Association and grateful to them for their ongoing support of SFBGS.
Have a great week! As always, thank you for your support of our parish family.
